The idea of bringing emerging artists together to share in community and affordable studio space was just the seed, now Public Functionary and Studio #400 need your support to grow.
As Public Functionary expands into the next phase of programming and space, Studio #400 becomes the place where we can nourish the roots of what we care about most: centering the creative practices of artists, curators and cultural producers who have been under-valued by mainstream and institutional art systems. With the loss of beloved local art exhibition spaces, and the increasing difficulty to find affordable artist studios to make work, Studio #400 looks to provide access to support that emerging artists often have barriers to.
Help Studio #400 flourish and become a sustainable stepping stone for emerging artists to grow in their practice, in community with one another, and in their relationships with artists and arts leaders in the Twin Cities, and beyond.
Our EVERYTHING MUST GROW, SO MAKE IT RAIN campaign asks you to join us in cultivating this next generation of artists by contributing financially to the success of this program and studio. Our goal is to raise $14,000!
Currently Studio #400 artists pay a subsidized $100 rental fee for their semi-private studio space with access to communal spaces like work tables, storage, and a gallery. This rental fee does not cover the entirety of the costs for the space each month, and your support allows us to cover the remaining costs like improvements to the space, studio rent, guest artist/mentor stipends, and continue to make this program a reality.
Studio 400 supports nine working artists with creative space, mentorship, community and opportunity. This program is newly developing and your contribution will support it’s future.
Support Public Functionary’s next chapter. Over the next 6-8 months we’ll be working on strategy, build out of a new space and fundraising. Your contribution goes directly into operating costs. Space is the foundation for everything.
We use Paypal to accept donations as it involves the least fees and goes direct to PF unlike third party donation software. Though it seems informal, we do track every donation. Please feel free leave any comments or notes through the option to “add a note” in the paypal transaction. Thank you!
Public Functionary is fiscally sponsored by Springboard for the Arts. If you would like your contribution to be tax-deductible, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to make a donation through our 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor.
