GRANNY’S HOUSE

SCENIC INSTALLATION BY MARIAH HANSON (YAYASAGA) / CINEFILMU

LOCATION: PF MAIN GALLERY 144 & UPSTAIRS GALLERY 247

Cinefilmu will present immersive installations weaving the theme of Kin. Kinship is not just a theme—it’s how we move. From the films we program to the spaces we design, the installations welcome rest, celebration, and a place to hold one another.

Granny’s House is a sensory installation by Cinefilmu’s scenic designer Mariah Hanson. Inspired by the warmth and memory of weekend stays at your grandma’s house, this immersive experience evokes kinship through cozy, nostalgic design and ambient projections—featuring film scenes of quiet and stillness.

Before stepping into the installation, attendees are invited to stop by Granny’s Living Room—a vintage-inspired photo booth styled with collected furniture for portraits and playful documentation. Rooted in Cinefilmu’s 2025 theme, Kin, the space invites rest, celebration, and collective care—offering a place to gather, reflect, and hold one another.

Installation & Photobooth on view during all Open Screen: The Forum sessions.
