We encourage all current PF Studios artists and alumni to apply if the themes resonate with you and the work you are creating! Existing work AND ideas for the creation of new work are all accepted. Exhibition Theme

“The cognitive dissonance, the sense of unreality, has been palpable. we can only counter it through collective witnessing.” - Hala Alyan, Palestinian-American writer, poet, and clinical psychologist speaking about the genocide in Gaza, November 20th 2023

There is something palpable in the act of collective witnessing, especially in the times we find ourselves in; navigating multiple genocides, pandemics, and failures of the state. Witnessing is one of the endless acts of resistance that helps us strive toward a better world we are collectively building together. Hala states that  “Bearing witness is an act of community care”, and showing each other love through seeing/being seen, is how we will endure.

We are looking for work that affirms your/our humanity, the acceptance of your own complexity and the nuances, stories and shapes of those around you. The work that is submitted for this show may reflect the subtleties of resistance in daily life, or honor the act of witnessing and amplification, or illuminate the power and resilience that is achieved when we come together and see each other in our wholeness.
