Luca’s art connects fiber crafts with filmmaking and animation as a lens for experimental storytelling. They work with soft sculpture, paper-mache puppets, and textile stop-motion animation to create playful mixed-media films and installations. Luca engages with filmmaking as a form of emotional processing and sensory exploration, and they include themes of relationships, the body, and religion in their work. Luca grew up in Lawrence, KS, and graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, where they studied Studio Art and Film and Media Studies. Luca recently completed the St. Olaf Emerging Artist Program for 2024-25 and moved to the Twin Cities to continue their art practice.
