(she/her)
As a Filipino-Minnesotan artist, Michelle Abdon tells stories through mixed media illustration—melding memory, feeling, and personal history into visual form.
My work is often an attempt to hold a fleeting moment, to process a complex emotion, or to honor someone I’ve known or something I’ve felt. Light is a quiet but central companion in my creative process. I explore how it moves through memory, how it softens or sharpens what we carry. In this way, my art becomes a kind of offering—one that hopes to calm the waters in others, inviting a return to what makes us deeply human: our longing, our individuality, and the threads that connect us. To me, art is both experience and expression—a conversation with the universe. I hope to create more pieces that feel like confessions, like whispered truths, always yearning for connection.”
