Shenali's art serves as a visual diary, capturing her personal zeitgeist through vivid expressions of emotion, particularly those we often suppress. Using acrylic on canvas, she aims to blend surrealism, cartoon-inspired imagery, and the uncanny while exploring themes of existentialism, her Sri Lankan identity, sexuality, and playful yet unsettling motifs.

As a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota with degrees in psychology, sociology, and public health, she approaches art as both a creative outlet and a means of giving back. Though her subject matter is often personal and varied, she has raised over $1,500 through artwork sales for Minneapolis mutual aid funds and various humanitarian causes.
