In 2022 Adrian Wilson and Ryan Stopera invited photographers and filmmakers to meet in The Study at Public Functionary to connect, share, and get feedback from each other with the intention of cultivating a laid back space for artists to show work in progress. "It can be hard to find motivation in between ideation and film festival, and we wanted to create a community where we can grow together and get inspiration to keep making art and telling stories" Ryan shared.
This year Open Screen continues with a call for work in addition to curated guest films each month. Adrian expanded the project across the river in a partnership with St. Paul Neighborhood Network, where Open Screen will be hosted quarterly starting in April.
